Central Power Core

The Heart of Containment: Belsavis Central Power Core

🌐 General Lore: The Central Power Core of Belsavis

Hidden beneath the frozen surface of Belsavis lies a marvel of ancient engineering—the central power core, a hyperspace-driven energy source designed by the enigmatic Rakata of the Infinite Empire. Tasked with maintaining the sprawling prison systems and containment vaults of this ancient world, the core fuels a fusion of Rakatan and Republic technology that spans millennia.

During the Cold War, the core became the target of Executor Krannus, a fanatical servant of the Sith Emperor who sought to destroy it and unleash chaos. His cult prepared to detonate the core in a destructive rite meant to tear through hyperspace and reality itself. But their plot was foiled by the Hero of Tython, who braved the depths of Belsavis and disabled the explosives, preserving the prison’s stability and averting disaster on a galactic scale.

📜 Jedi Lore Keeper Perspective:

Entry from the Archives of Tython, High Scribe Ilan Telross

"What we call a prison, the Rakata once called a crucible. The truth, as always, lies between the names."

Deep within the shivering bones of Belsavis hums a power unlike any other—the Central Power Core, a relic and a riddle left behind by the ancient Rakata. It is not merely an engine, but a heart, pulsing with energy drawn from the pathways of hyperspace itself. Its light sustains the vast containment fields that bind ancient evils, forgotten weapons, and primordial terrors that predate the Republic.

In the twilight days of the Cold War, dark omens surrounded this core. The cult of Executor Krannus, driven by visions of galactic collapse, sought to rend the veil of reality through its destruction. Had they succeeded, the prison would have become a graveyard, and the resulting hyperspace rupture could have unraveled the Force’s flow in this system.

Yet balance prevailed. A Jedi—known only in our records as the Hero of Tython—descended into the prison’s core and calmed the storm. This act, like many others, did not make headlines across the galaxy. But it is recorded here, in silence and ink, so the Force may remember what the galaxy forgets.
