Iokath

To call Iokath a planet is technically incorrect, and an insult to the brilliant design of the artificial world. A massive sphere constructed around--and fully enveloping--an undersized and unremarkable star, Iokath absorbs all of the energy released by its "sun," maximizing solar efficiency.

All the orbital bodies in the system--every planet, moon, and asteroid--were demolished and salvaged for core elements to create this technological marvel. The salvage was processed and repurposed to create a self-sustaining ecosphere that could be altered and expanded to meet the ever-changing needs of the builders and their society. The self-contained nature of Iokath allows for complete control and customization of every aspect of the environment--a theoretically perfect world.

With the system's star hidden by the surrounding sphere, Iokath is undetectable from a distance, and its impenetrable exterior defenses make it virtually unassailable. Combined with the technological superiority of the builders, it was impervious to any outside threat... but Iokath couldn't protect itself from enemies within. (Codex Text - Star Wars the Old Republic)

Abandoned Listening Post

This Imperial deep space installation was once capable of intercepting and decrypting a staggering volume of enemy communications. Its existence and location were highly classified.
After the dissolution of Imperial Intelligence, the station's staff was relocated and never replaced, and the station itself was forgotten, a victim of the secrecy that once protected it--there was no one left who knew that it needed to be staffed in the first place.

Sensors have detected energy signatures from the station's equipment that do not match any known Imperial technology, likely the result of modifications made by the station's mysterious new occupants. The original source, purpose, and capabilities of these modifications are unknown.

The Gravestone

The Gravestone: The Ghost Engine of Wild Space

An ancient warship… a forgotten savior… a myth etched in the stars.

Centuries before the Eternal Empire rose to power, before Valkorion carved his dominion across worlds, an unspeakable force swept through Wild Space. The Eternal Fleet—an armada with no crew, no fear, no mercy—erased entire civilizations with surgical precision. Planet by planet, they rendered the void lifeless.

And then, from the silence, came the Gravestone.

An alien vessel of unknown origin, the Gravestone was not simply a weapon—it was a miracle of design and destruction. With a single discharge, it could unravel fleets, collapse squadrons, and sever connections between capital ships in a web of synchronized annihilation. Its mysterious creators, long vanished from the galactic map, had built the ship as a final answer to the Eternal Fleet… and it succeeded.

But great power rarely leaves the galaxy untouched. After the final engagement, both the Eternal Fleet and the Gravestone vanished from all known records. The ship became legend—spoken of in hushed tones by Wild Space traders and temple archivists alike. Some believed it was lost. Others believed it was hiding.

Millennia later, the Gravestone emerged again—weathered, ancient, but alive. And though its systems groan under the strain of time, the Alliance dares to restore it. To awaken it.

But awakening a relic of such wrath is not without cost. What was once a savior may now carry the burden of sorrow, guilt… or vengeance.

"There are tales whispered even among the Navigators—those who chart the storms beyond the Rim. A ship, they say, forged by hands no one remembers. A vessel born not of conquest, but of desperate resistance. They call it the Gravestone."

"Some claim it is not truly a ship, but a grave marker. A reliquary built over the bones of a world devoured by the Eternal Fleet. Others say it was created by the very people who first breathed life into the Eternal Fleet—engineers of a long-fallen civilization, who realized too late the cost of their creation. They built the Gravestone as penance. Or perhaps as a failsafe."

"In the archives of Iokath, now partially restored, fragments remain—schematics burned into crystalline cores, coded by languages long forgotten by any human tongue. The Gravestone was unlike any ship seen in our time. No hyperlane-bound dreadnought, no cruiser of Core schematics. It was a thing of flowing design and raw power, forged with intention to silence an entire fleet with a single shot. And it succeeded."

"But as with all powerful things, its victory was pyrrhic. The Gravestone vanished after the battle, drifting into legend. Some scholars believed it deactivated itself—refusing to be used for war again. Others believed the ship had a soul of its own, and buried itself until it was truly needed."

🌀 From Jedi Knight Halin Vos – Debrief Excerpt

"I saw it. Not a holo. Not a tale. The Gravestone is real. When we reached the remains of Iokath’s old vaults, I felt the energy shift—the Force pulsed like a warning drum. The ship was there. Slumbering. Broken, but breathing."
"We tried to interface with its systems. The Force… resisted. As though the ship remembered the pain of its past. The memory of a trillion lives lost by its weaponry is etched into its walls. It is no ordinary machine. It feels. It waits."

⚙️ Lorekeeper’s Addendum – Gravestone Upgrades, Jedi Watchpost Sigma-8

Though Jedi involvement in the Alliance’s upgrade effort has been minimal, several observers have voiced concern over the ethical implications of reviving the Gravestone. “To enhance such a relic may awaken echoes best left undisturbed,” wrote Master Selu’nar. “The past gave us this tool not as a weapon of power, but a reminder of humility. Let us not forget that.”

📌 Final Notation:

Whether the Gravestone will return as protector or judge is unknown. But what is certain: the galaxy does not forget. And neither does the Force.

The Gravestone

Centuries before Valkorion's arrival on Zakuul, the Eternal Fleet was in the process of systematically decimating all life in Wild Space. Legend speaks of a single massive, alien warship that could counter the Fleet's might: the Gravestone. Outfitted with specialized weapons designed to take out multiple targets at once, the Gravestone could destroy entire sections of the Fleet--including capital ships--with a single shot. After the final battle, the Eternal Fleet was deactivated and the Gravestone believed to be lost. Zakuulan archeologists have scoured Wild Space for a trace of the old warship, but so far have been unsuccessful.

Gravestone Upgrades

The origins of the Gravestone--and the Eternal Fleet--were thought to be lost to history, until the Outlander discovered the ruins of an advanced alien civilization on the droid-infested world of Iokath. Using blueprints and data files of the Gravestone's original creators recovered from Iokath, the Alliance saw the opportunity to optimize the ship's weapons and defense systems.

Unfortunately, installing the new upgrades has proved far more complicated than anticipated, leaving the Gravestone trapped in dry-dock while mechanics work frantically around the clock to integrate the new enhancements. While some argue it is foolish to sideline one of the most powerful ships in the galaxy for any length of time, the benefits seem to outweigh the risk. Once completed, the greater firepower, better shielding, and improved speed and maneuverability will make the Gravestone virtually unstoppable.

📜 Excerpt from the Journals of Jedi Lorekeeper Saelari Venn
Odessen, 16:3:28 ABY
"Entry: Gravestone Rising"

I stood at the ridge just before dawn, where the air clings still to the night’s dreams and the mist swirls like whispers of the Force.

Before me—framed by the breath of ancient trees and the glow of awakening light—rose the Gravestone. Not merely a warship. Not simply a relic. But something older… more enduring. As if the stars themselves had carved it from silence and fire, placing it here to rest until called once more.

The cliffs around her cradle her like a mountain spirit. The moss grows along her shadows. Even the birds, I swear, do not fly too close—perhaps out of reverence. Or fear.

Some Jedi speak of ships as tools. The Gravestone, however, defies such simplicity. I sense her story humming through the metals. I feel the echoes of the beings who once walked her halls. The ones who fought for balance, for freedom, for survival.

And I wonder… when she looks out toward the stars again, will we be ready for what she remembers?

She is not just a ship. She is memory shaped in steel. A sentinel of the Wild Space’s forgotten battles. A song of mourning and resolve.

And as I turned to leave the ridge, sunlight kissed her hull, and for a fleeting second, I thought I saw her breathe.

📜 Scroll Fragment: "The Slumbering Giant of Odessen"
Archived in the Jedi Lorekeeper's Codex, Entry #47-Bantha

As the mists curled between the jagged cliffs of Odessen, the Gravestone rested like a sleeping titan—silent, yet never truly still. I stood among the pines, the cool wind brushing my robes, watching golden engine lights pulse like the heartbeat of a legend.

There is something holy about its presence. A vessel born of unknown hands, forged to end an eternal fleet… and now, it slumbers on this hidden world. Some say the ship chooses its moment to wake. Others believe it is merely a tool, bound to those who command it.

But I felt the Force move around it—like ancient waves around a stone buried in deep waters. The Gravestone is not merely a weapon. It is a memory of resistance, of loss… and of hope, sealed in steel and silence.

The roots of the forest grow quietly around its landing site, as though the planet embraces it. Perhaps it will remain still forever, its battles behind it. Or perhaps, one day, the stars will call again—and the Gravestone will rise with the dawn.
